Title: A Surprising Experience on London’s Northern Line

Recently, I had an eye-opening experience on London’s Northern Line after not riding it for several years. The state of the train took me by surprise — from the floors to the seats, everything seemed encrusted with layers of dirt.

While a single photo couldn’t quite capture the extent of the grime, taking more pictures of the used seating would have invited curious looks from fellow passengers.

This experience left me pondering whether I’ve become accustomed to the comfort of the Thameslink, or if the Northern Line has always been this unkempt but somehow slipped my memory. Surprisingly, I found myself comparing its cleanliness—or lack thereof—to that of the New York City subway, and the latter seemed less grimy in comparison.

Does anyone else share this sentiment, or is it simply a case of readjusting my expectations? Share your thoughts below.
